A practical service brief: Best Directory Submission Service
A service brief states the product, the directories in scope, what counts as done and how each listing will be checked.
What the brief should contain
Name the product and link to its site. Attach the approved profile. List the kinds of directory that are in scope and those that are not. Define a live listing in one sentence, and state whether paid directories, badge-gated directories and indexing are included.
Questions every provider should answer
Who creates and keeps the directory accounts? What happens to a rejected entry? Is the commitment to submissions or to live listings? What will be delivered for each listing, and in what format? How long does the work take, and when will the first listing appear?
Use the answers
Put each provider’s answers into one table and date it. An answer that cannot be checked counts as no answer. The blank brief template on this site can be copied and filled in for any provider.
